A West Bengal government employee, Amit Sarkar, attacked multiple colleagues with a knife after being denied leave for several days. Sarkar, who worked at Karigori Bhawan in Kolkata, lost control when his coworkers made fun of his father. Four people were injured, with two in critical condition.
Sarkar, upset about not getting leave to care for his sick mother, snapped after his colleagues mocked his father. Following the attack, he was found walking on the road holding a blood-stained knife, causing panic. Police arrested him after a traffic officer convinced him to drop the weapon.
Sarkar had been frustrated over denied leave requests, and the situation escalated when his colleagues insulted his father. Authorities are investigating the case and will question Sarkar’s supervisors.
